Job Description:
New Kent Winery/Talleysville Brewing Company is looking for an experienced food preparation and service professional to work in a small plate prep-kitchen environment.
The ideal candidate completes placement and delivery of small plate items, interacts with customers and other winery staff to provide a pleasant food and wine experience for visitors.
DUTIES AND Responsibilities:
The kitchen staff performs a wide range of duties in a fast-paced prep-kitchen; duties include basic kitchen preparation and delivery of small plate menu items, and stocking and proper storing of inventory. In addition, the kitchen staff is responsible for ensuring all areas of the kitchen, food prep, and food storage areas are clean and properly sanitized. This includes washing dishes and heating equipment, cleaning floors, sanitizing countertops and cutting boards, and maintaining all areas to health code standards.
Skills/Qualifications:
Quick and efficient worker with 1 or more years of experience in food preparation or cooking.
Dependability – the kitchen staff is expected to be reliable, on time for work, and consistent in delivering a world class customer experience to our visitors
Physical stamina – work on your feet and be able to carry up to 35 pounds for short distances
Customer service – working in all areas of the kitchen and in the winery/brewery Tasting Room, including bars and seating areas
Efficiency with kitchen equipment – work safely and effectively with all kitchen equipment
Team player – takes direction from the owners and works with other managers, willing to assist other team members as needed
