On Tuesday, July 9, the Flying Squirrels will host the Eastern League of Professional Baseball Celebrity Home Run Derby, featuring the All-Star players and special guests who will participate in a series of home run and hitting challenges.
The Celebrity Home Run Derby special guests include:

- Former Penn State Nittany Lions and Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl champion Michael Robinson

- Richmond Athletics head men's basketball coach Chris Mooney
- VCU Athletics head men's basketball coach Mike Rhoades
- Former Richmond Athletics and NFL running back Tim Hightower
- Former Flying Squirrels standout Mark Minicozzi
- Star of the hit TV show Survivor Jonny Fairplay
- Former VCU Athletics basketball star & Indianapolis Colts tight end Mo Alie-Cox
The band Three Sheets To The Wind | America's #1 tribute to Yacht Rock will perform following the Celebrity Home Run Derby. DJ Ron Manila DJ-ing throughout the Home Run Derby. Post-game fireworks following the conclusion of the event.
