Mulled Wine Recipe

Just in case you missed our Mulled Wine this weekend, we wanted to pass along a quick and easy recipe to try at home! We like using our White Norton for this recipe but you are welcome to try out other wines. We find that the fruity the wine, the better! You can also try this with or without the Brandy, depending on your alcohol preferences. This is a great drink to serve for holiday Christmas parties or on Christmas Eve with your family!

Ingredients:

  • 1 (750-ml.) bottle New Kent Winery White Norton

  • 1 orange, sliced into rounds, plus more for garnish

  • 6 whole cloves

  • 3 cinnamon sticks, plus more for garnish

  • 3 star anise

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 1/2 cup Brandy

Directions:

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients. Bring to a simmer not a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer gently over low heat for 10 minutes. You could also choose to do this in a crockpot or transfer it over to a crockpot once warm if you are traveling for an event and want it to transport more easily!

Serve warm and garnish with more citrus slices and cinnamon sticks. This is be approximately 6 servings but the recipe can easily be doubled or tripled for more guests!
